My Blog

What a great time to be alive. As I sit here thinking about life, I realize after all of these years without very little college, I have been able to teach high school for 2 years. I was a CEO and President of 2 corporations for 35 years, and in the pro music arena, I performed in cover bands and formed 2 of my own groups in music namely The Continentals out of Pocatello Idaho (US Tour), and the famous JimmyGass Trio in the San Francisco Bay area.
I dropped out of school in my junior year and joined the United States Navy. I was an Interior Communications Petty Officer and was basically in charge of all alarms, telephones, movies, and the ship's gyro compass. It was an awesome position and I had 2 men under me. Moreover, upon discharge, my musical talents came forth and I formed 2 musical groups — The JimmyGass Trio and The Continentals. We toured and It was all a wonderful experience and one that I will never forget.
The bottom line is one does not really need a college degree to be successful. I learned much about communications and the various methodologies by delving headlong into a project. It takes a while to figure it out but you can do that. Another great way to learn — and it is the best — is On The Job Training (OTJT). Learn from a master. You are paid well and many times, they will apay for your schooling. Usual apprenticeships are 3 years, after which you should know your job well and be considered a Journeyman which means Big Dollars ...
There are 3 things you need to continually keep in mind:

1. Always portray a good attitude … Always.
2. Be honest in all that you do. It's an important core value that makes up your character.
3. Work hard. I cannot emphasize the importance of hard work. This is always noticed by many people around you.
